Fernie starts to get into the Summer spirit as the last of the snow in town melts away and the spring temperatures really kick in. Many of the tourists leave the town around the time that the mountain closes to skiers and snowboarders, but those who stay find that the summer is even better than the winter here.
Fernie is an active town with plenty going on throughout the whole year. The popular activities in summer tend to be mountain biking, fishing, tennis, golf and hiking. There are also tour operators that organise and run white water rafting trips along with the more gentle activity of river floating.
Golf is a very popular pastime here and with the golf course being so close to the town it is easily accessible to all. The views from this par 70 course are absolubtly stunning and the challenges it presents will satisfy all levels of players. The golfing season begins in May and runs right through to October.
